Last month we announced that due to a lack of manpower, we would be closing down Compass Paintball after our August 13th Ministry Day. Today, we are pleased to announce a change in this situation — this close will only be temporary, and in a few months we will re-open for business!
Dan Melling, one of our longtime referees who many of you have met, has agreed to take over the Compass and run our day-to-day operations once we re-open. Most of what you know about the Compass won’t change after this brief break. Our address, phone number, connection to Faith Assembly, most of our staff, and our mission will still be the same. We’ll just be under new management (and we’re really only changing one letter in the manager’s name!).
Dan has been with the Compass for quite some time now, and previously ran his own paintball field for close to a decade before moving to South Carolina. We’re proud to have him step in and lead the Compass into the next phase of our ministry, and thankful that God has given us a chance to continue on.
Don Robertson, our founder and current manager, will still be sticking around, and you’ll see him at the field from time to time. However, his primary focus will be on recruiting new volunteers to help keep the field running.
Our grand re-opening will take place on October 8th, with the rest of our schedule to be announced soon (look for more information around September). We’ll also have more details about what you can expect during our exciting relaunch as we get closer to that date.
So come on out and have a great time this weekend, and we’ll see you again in October!
Of course, as always, we’re still looking for new volunteers to come help out at the Compass. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please contact us at 843.735.9466 or email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you with details on how you can get involved.
