Compass Paintball

The Compass recently joined the CFOA as a host field, and we now have a schedule for the upcoming D5- and D6-level 3-man tournaments. The Compass will be hosting CFOA events on the following dates:

  • July 27th
  • August 24th
  • September 21st
  • October 26th

Regionals will be held on November 16th in Rock Hill, SC.

The Compass will be offering prize packs for all Compass-hosted events, including paint, Empire shirts and hats, and Dye hats and koozies. If your team is interested in registering for these events, please visit the CFOA website. Because these are CFOA events, you won’t be able to register by calling The Compass.

As you may have seen on our Facebook page, Faith Assembly of God in Summerville held a fundraiser on June 15th for Pastor Jonathan and Kimberly Millen as they prepare to go to China as missionaries. We setup our SplatMaster gear on the speedball field as part of the fundraising effort and gave visitors a taste of what they would experience at one of our new JT SplatMaster parties,

Check out the video above for some of the video we took during a few of the games. Everyone had a ton of fun, and we’re excited to offer these parties to everyone. If you’re interested in booking one of our SplatMaster events, just give us a call at 843-735-9466 and we’ll get you setup!

As we announced recently, The Compass has been gearing up to launch a brand-new paintball experience for younger players—the JT SplatMaster party. Well, the wait is finally over. You can book your JT SplatMaster party starting right now!

SplatMaster parties will be available for players age 8 and up and their parents.

Here’s a quick rundown of what will happen during a SplatMaster party:

First, players will be outfitted with special SplatMaster guns that fire smaller paintballs at slower speeds. Once everyone is geared up, we’ll have a twenty-minute target shooting session that will help players get familiar with their markers, learn to aim, and most importantly, help teach them paintball safety.

Once the target shooting is finished, we’ll move to the field and play several games. As the day comes to a close, we’ll up the ante by giving parents the option to get into the action and play with their kids.

If this sounds like fun (trust us, it is!), give us a call today at (843) 735-9466 and book your party. Each two-hour party is $125 and comes with unlimited SplatMaster ammo.

Don’t freak out, but everything just changed (again)! We’ve got a brand-new design for our website. For the most part all of the information from the old website is in roughly the same place on the new one, but the new site should be more readable and work much better on mobile devices.

One of the bigger changes is the address of our blog. The old address (blog.compasspaintball.com) will still get you there, but the actual address from now on will be compasspaintball.com/blog. All of our old posts are still there, and all of our new ones will be posted to Facebook as always.

If you run into any issues at all with the new site, please don’t hesitate to let me know. You can reach me at mike (at) compasspaintball (dot) com. Enjoy our new site!

We’re excited to announce that The Compass will soon be offering parties with JT Splatmaster gear and paint.

For those who aren’t familiar, JT Splatmaster paintball gear is designed for younger players who aren’t very familiar with the sport. It provides them a great opprotunity to come get acquainted with the game using gear and paint that is specially designed for kids. The markers shoot smaller paintballs than the conventional paintball guns you’ll find in most stores, and fire them at a half the normal speed.
With JT Splatmaster, kids age 7 and up can come out and try The Compass with their parents. The standard JT Splatmaster regimen starts off with target practice to help the kids get familiar with their equipment, followed by some games against real opponents. We also hope to get the parents involved in the games so the entire family can come out and take part in the fun.
We’re still locking down the pricing for these parties, but we hope to launch the program this summer. We’ll let you know as soon as everything is finalized. We hope to see parents and kids out at the Compass soon!

Just wanted everyone to know we are attempting to play woodsball tomorrow. On the other hand  speedball may not happen. With the rain currently in progress I do not believe we will have the time to set up field tonight. Call before you come at 735-9466 or 209-5031.

On another note, CFOA has asked us to host 3-man D6 tournaments at the Compass. The plan at this point is to start CFOA tournaments in July. We just had 4 staff members attend Cfoa referee clinic in Rockhill, S.C. We appreciate the instructors and there experienced referees that provided training. Great job!

As of July 11, 2012, the Compass Paintball rules have been updated. Below is a summary of the changes. Please be sure to sign an updated copy of the rules next time you visit.

Changes

  • Added two new rules to the section Things you must do. These new rules specify that
    • Only field paint (paint purchased from the Compass) will be allowed on the playing field. This is to ensure safety and fair play. And
    • You must wear your safety mask while filling your compressed air bottle.
  • Added a new item to the section Things that are not allowed - non-field paint is no longer allowed at the Compass for safety reasons.
  • Updated the Speedball section to clarify that no paint purchased outside the Compass will be allowed.
  • Added two new rules to the Speedball section
    • Only referees and staff are allowed in the dead zone for safety reasons
    • If the entrance to a field is closed, no one is allowed to enter. This is for bunker maintenance.
  • Added a new notice that Compass Paintball staff reserve the right to inspect your bags, pods, or hoppers for unauthorized paint.
If you have any questions about these changes, please feel free to contact us on Facebook.

Iam blogging about the upcomin 3 Man Speedball event .
Many are asking the question ,how many others teams have registered for the tournament, some so they can determine if the event is going to happen. This may be impeding the process.Even with CFOA or other promoters registration and fees are required in advavce for planing purposes. You must go through the whole process, which includes paying the entry fee through Paypal. If the tournament is cancelled due to lack of entries, the registration fee will be refunded. The registration deadline will be extended through 31 Jan 2012However if 8 teams have not registered the event will be cancelled. The Compass is excited about sponcering this and future events. We love speedball and offer the sport to the community in the way it was originally intended.

For this event, we will not be using PayPal to register, but will be taking cash and check payments instead. To reserve your space, call Don Robertson at 843.209.5031 or Dean Goldsmith at 843.225.3435.
